Focus on recycling practices, waste management, and India’s readiness to align with global sustainability standards.

The April–June 2025 edition of Textile Times included a contribution from Joint Managing Director Mr. Rajeev Gupta on textile recycling. The feature addressed the state of recycling in India’s textile sector and examined the balance between virgin and recycled fibres. It outlined sector challenges, including waste management and scale, and pointed to opportunities for expanding circular practices.

“Recycling is not a replacement but an essential complement to virgin fibres in building a circular textile economy,” said Mr. Gupta. The article also referred to next steps such as strengthening recycled polyester capacity, traceable supply chains, and compliance with international sustainability requirements
